4 Tips for Vision Board Success
Creating a vision board is a fun activity and some people hold vision board parties filled with friends, fun, laughter, music, and food. Who doesn’t love a party and what’s not to like about cutting out photos of your ideal life? You can even make these virtual for pandemic life.
Some people will immediately dismiss these vision boards as “woo woo” or just a waste of time. They are not for everyone. You have to be someone that is inspired by visual reminders and you are craving change.
The following are a few tips to help you enjoy vision board success.

Vision Board Tip #1: Less is More
Typically, people like to fill a gigantic piece of cardboard with dozens of photos (and other artifacts) of their hopes and dreams, everything from the dream mansion by the ocean to the diamonds and private yachts. But I consider that inauthentic at best, how can you focus on achieving all those big ticket items all at once? Why do you need all those big ticket things?
Edit the number of artifacts you use on your vision board and decide which of goal you want based on the feeling reaching that goal will help you achieve.

Vision Board Tip #2: Prioritize Your Goals
What is most important to you: working a 4 hour workweek or living by the ocean? The fancy sports car or the ability to travel around the world? These are just examples, of course, but you need to prioritize each photo you find and really ask yourself WHY you want this on your board.
Is it truly important to you or is it a flashback from your childhood? Even worse, is it someone else’s dream entirely?

Vision Board Tip #3: Take Action
Vision boards are not mystical or magical; just because you put the photos together and post it in your office doesn’t mean things will start magically appearing. Thinking about a cup of coffee probably isn’t going to make it appear, if it did I would have one right now.
The same is true of vision boards. If you want to buy learn piano you’ll need to take some action: do some research on pianos, talk piano instructor, and purchase the piano and start lessons.

Vision Board Tip #4: Believe that You are Good Enough
Mindset is everything when it comes to making goals a reality. How many times have you talked yourself out of doing something because you think, “that will never work!” Changing your mindset and trying on new thought could make a lot of difference.
Try answering your negative inner critic by writing things down when old thoughts come up. Try saying things like, “Why NOT me? If not me, then who and why do they deserve it more?”
If you’re willing to take action, you will come much closer top reaching your goals that someone that never tries. You get to decide what your next steps are going to be.
Vision boards are tools that help you stay on track when the newness of a goal has worn off. Motivation is built by doing.
